On 23 September 2025 in Zagreb, FSC participated in the conference “Preparations for the EUDR Procedure”, which brought together more than 70 participants from the forestry and wood industry sectors in Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Austria, and Italy. On this occasion, practical FSC solutions for preparing companies for EUDR were presented, including risk assessments, digital traceability, and tools for compliant reporting. Despite possible announcements regarding delays in the implementation of the Regulation, FSC’s continued commitment to transparency, traceability, and responsible sourcing was emphasized.

FSC Adria-Balkan also presented key information on EUDR and the role of FSC certification at an event held on 26 and 27 November 2025, organized by the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Srpska and the Regional Chamber of Commerce in Bijeljina. The focus was on EUDR requirements, the contribution of FSC certification to preventing illegal logging, and practical FSC tools such as FSC Trace and the Regulatory Module, which help companies reduce risk and enhance supply-chain transparency.

National FM Standard in North Macedonia
Further strengthening of the FSC presence in the region was achieved on 18 November 2025 in North Macedonia, through a constructive meeting with key stakeholders involved in the development of the National Forest Management Standard. Special recognition was given to local experts Dr. Jurant Diki and Prof. Nikolce Velkovski for their significant contributions and expert support. Read more about this HERE.

In addition to these activities, a series of eight Chain of Custody webinars was successfully completed, resulting in 40 participants receiving certificates, thereby further strengthening the capacity of companies in the region to implement FSC standards and traceability requirements.
